Vanessa Richardson is the television sideline reporter for Houston Rockets broadcasts on Space City Home Network, Houston's regional sports network. She also hosts a weekly feature show, Rockets All Access, and fills in as a host and reporter for Houston Astros broadcasts.
Prior to the Rockets, Vanessa hosted a sports talk radio show on the ESPN radio affiliate in Houston, where she also traveled covering the NFL. She spent two years as a sports anchor/reporter for the NBC affiliate in Houston, and appeared on national NBC broadcasts covering the IMSA racing series.
She has covered the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Kentucky Derby, MLB All Star weekend, the NFL Combine, and the Indy 500 for various media outlets.
Prior to landing in Houston, Vanessa worked in Cincinnati for two years covering news and sports for the NBC affiliate. A 2017 University of Indianapolis graduate, she got her start as a college student covering the Colts and the Indy 500 for an FM radio station. While in college, she also served as the in-arena host for the Indiana Pacers, and spent time as the sports correspondent for the nationally syndicated "Bob and Tom Show."
Her true passion is telling exciting human interest stories that go way beyond highlights and stats, be it in the studio or on the sideline.
